about

We are a research group at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour with a keen interest in sound, machine learning and the brain. We focus on representation learning by artificial neural network models and by biological neural network models (the brain) in order to understand how listeners (be it human or machine) can deduce information and meaning from high-dimensional, complex acoustic environments. Our research focuses on advancing scientific insights into brain processing of sound and on the technical development of novel machine learning techniques for audio encoding.
